Goenka Mansion

Built according to the dedicated principles of Maha Vaastu, this 21,000 square feet mansion is home to 12 bedrooms of the 12-member Goenka family. In an attempt to build over the revered design of Indian homes, this mansion was planned as a square, with adjoining rooms looped around a central, open courtyard.

The courtyard helped bring the lavish landscape from outside the house to the inside. With four generations living together, it was also important to create dedicated communication and recreational spaces for each part of the family, made possible with its raised gardens, multiple seating rooms on the lower floor, and the entertainment zone on the first level.

The landscape around the house was designed keeping in mind functionality over decoration, and a space was made for leisure, sporting, events, family bonding, as well as individual refute. The grandfather’s prominent office stood as a highlight of the gardens.
